Book Jacket for Unruly Gods: Divinity and Society in China
Schoolwork; part of Cover Me!

Unruly Gods serves as an introduction to the Chinese pantheon of divinities, and explores the relationships between divinity and society in China. The book surveys rebels, outlaws, and tricksters, and suggests that they didn’t just reflect China’s socio-political order, but rather expressed and negotiated tensions within it.

The jacket plays on the idea that these Chinese gods challenge and 'shake up' traditional Chinese power structures... via a sick dance party.
