Hello ︎ I’m YY (as in why-why; they’re my initials)!
I’m a Chinese-Singaporean illustrator, designer, and author currently based in NYC, where I design book covers for Grand Central Publishing/Hachette. Before that, I studied illustration and art history at MICA.
I like bold, punchy colours, graphic shapes, and lines that look a little wonky. My dream project is to illustrate a cookbook even though I’m really bad at cooking. In my spare time I like listening to the same three songs on repeat, hoarding picture books, and thinking up increasingly rancid names for cats.
